Droomjob: Discovery Channel zoekt jou om de wereld rond te reizen

Je zou bijna gaan denken dat we deze vacatures zelf verzinnen. Maar niets is minder waar. Omdat we carrière maken belangrijk vinden, is Marie Claire er altijd als de kippen bij als het gaat om het vinden van jouw droomjob. Dit keer is het de bekende televisiezender Discovery Channel die op zoek is naar een nieuwe ‘Global Intern’. 

Perfecte stage
Waan jij je gemakkelijk een weg op social media en weet jij als geen ander hoe je een verhaal vertelt door woord, video en foto’s te combineren? Discovery Channel zoekt een stagiair die de wereld rondreist om social media-verslagen te maken. Wat er zoal op jouw to visit-lijst zal staan? Onder andere Japan, Duitsland, Zuid-Afrika, de Verenigde Staten en Kroatië. 

Just do it
Als je nog twijfelt – hoe dan? – bekijk dan even het Instagram-account van de vorige ‘Global Intern’. De 26-jarige Ben Mikha uit Nieuw-Zeeland mocht vorig jaar de wereld ontdekken en dat deed ‘ie op zijn geheel eigen manier. 

 

Back to my favourite beach.. A lot of the time I question social media. I often hear people talk about it as though it’s some pretentious, self absorbed stage where narcissism is praised. I go to write a caption and find myself questioning whether or not I should continue writing the piece, because as much as I enjoy expression, I wonder what people would think of me if I was to show a certain level of vulnerability. We’re always taught to keep our lives as private as possible, yet here we are on a social platform sharing more about ourselves with strangers than we sometimes do with those we know. It’s a paradox, but past all the noise and chatter these platforms have allowed me to grow more and more comfortable with sharing more of who I am and in the process, has connected me to a wider audience who inspires me to keep pursuing what I love. Photos like these and videos of the world probably wouldn’t have come about had I not discovered a place where I was able to connect with so many other like minded individuals. So to anyone who may question what they do, don’t. See the opportunity in these fast paced times and go for it P.S thank you so much for all the love on my Italy video!!
